February 2, 2010 - Violin On Fire review by doNW7 at babysue.com (CD, Chacra Music Licensing, Instrumental/jazz)
The debut album from Buckley Mills...a violinist who has already made quite a name for himself playing with and performing on the same bill with artists such as Joshua Bell, Dr. John, Buddy Guy, and Jonny Lane (among others). The appropriately-titled Violin On Fire features twelve cool instrumentals that spotlight Mills' impeccable stylings. The backing musicians are great...but Buckley's violin is the obvious central focus here. Cool toe-tappers include "Ain't Misbehavin'," "Georgia On My Mind," "Night Train," and "Blue Skies." Nice big slick sound.

January 5, 2010 - As the New Year ushers in a new beginning, Buckley Mills' new Chacra Music CD, Violin On Fire, casts a fresh accent on some familiar jazz classics.  His modern jazz violin glides through each song with a characteristic style.   When asked about the song selection, Buckley comments, "I chose these songs because I personally and musically connect with them."

Already an accomplished violinist, Buckley's career includes numerous highlights such as being the youngest member of the Sioux City Symphony at age fourteen and performing on the same bill as Itzhak Perlman, Joshua Bell, Dr. John, Buddy Guy, Jonny Lang, and countless others.  Now stepping into the recording arena, Buckley Mills is sure to garner even more recognition with his debut album.

The twelve-song collection, Violin On Fire, ships to radio on January 4th.  This is a must listen for all jazz connoisseurs.
